This is a project I thought about combining two elements:

Free Art
Moleskine Exchange
A Moleskine Exchange usually works with a notebook, in this case a Japanese Folding Notebook between different artists, either in the local area, city, county or even between continents.

In this case, rather than have the finished book gathering dust the well travelled notebook will either be given away or auctioned for charity.

Basically DogTired Sent out some whistles/Ocarinas with the brief of Pimping them anyway we could then posting back to her.

The scan is pretty ropey but conveys what I have just done - the paint is barely dry, and could do with a few more coats to erase the marker outlines - The concept seems to have worked out okay in 3d so I just need to find an application for it.

It's not exactly what I had planned but I found some free time in between ironing, searching for a new home and having a tasting for my upcoming wedding and have started the process of changing a Moleskine doodle to a full fledged piece of art.

My usual source of material, cat food boxes, was the place to start along with the trusty Sharpie. using the original Moley doodle as a rough guide I marked out the outline the cut around with a scalpel.

Updated Still no movement with this, With a wedding and a move on the horizon I am finding very little time to get anything completed.

The various pieces of card are then stacked in a 3D'ish manner - I am hoping that this turns out okay.

I just need to get my Cats some more food so I can pillage the packaging to complete this first stage. then I can look at painting, then sticking, the finished pieces together.

Updated. Thanks to my extremely greedy cats I have all the pieces I need. Painting should start pretty soon, followed by assembly.

work on some scaled up artworks and manage some test pieces.

Hopefully I can get something meaningful out of my Moleskine and onto some card, canvas etc.

Its funny how things turn out.

I like the imagery I have used here. Geometric blocks Isometric/vanishing point? and the lone, faceless character. I think my current move to brown pen has helped me - sounds funny - but the brown is less stark against the page softer... and less prone to smudging! The Pilot G-tec 4 is a bit fine but I have two so need to make use of them.

I am going to try working this image up in paint and in a slightly larger format:
2 block colours.

I will return to this once I have time to paint.

Something a tiny bit different from the norm. I normally try and doodle round or through blocks I guess I am just stressed at the minute, which is another reason why I try and doodle and sketch, just to find some tranquility.

I have found that my doodles and ideas aren't going any further than the page of my 'Skine. The tail end of last year and the beginning of this one found me with a fair amount of creative stuff to get on with but all is barren now.

Maybe I should do what I am already doing - putting pen to paper.

I was at a loss for something to doodle, no crazy characters popping into my head, no thoughts or ideas to put onto paper. I started doodling these cloud formations although they seem to have turned into smoke and fire.
I found it quite relaxing to doodle these, applying lots of ink to the paper was quite therapeutic and enjoyable.

Finally had an upgrade to my system since my last two installs of Windows went bonkers. Windows wouldn't pick up my HP printer/scanner properly and started throwing fits if it picked it up at all.
Anyway I have now been pursuaded to convert to Linux, and am actually impressed. I can now use my printer and scanner without any issues.

Anyway another page from my current Moleskine, doodles as usual. I have really been struggling to put anything to paper this last week or so, mainly by being to busy and getting really stressed because of work, upcoming marriage and the looming possibility of moving house!

I just filled the left hand page trying to get something onto paper and then moved over to these oddball guys on the right. The cloud formations are something I am playing with.

Actually only from 2007. I have just had a look through some old files and the back end of my Flickr account and found the on the very edge of going once I add some more files..

Tinkering around with Indian Ink and cleaned/Coloured In Photoshop.

It's a bit lazy to produce this in PS when I could just as easily contrived this with some 'real' media, so lazy that I produce quite a few in the space of a couple of hours. Useful, they act as tests and I am quite positive that I will transfer the idea over to canvas.

I have just started my second Moleksine of the year.....

Actually, this is a lie I have just stated my third Moleskine, a sketchpad. This, my second, was started at the begining of the month at the end of my holiday. This Moleskine should have MORE added value being that I am using coloured pens, which is a very large departure from my usual, anal, monochromatic self.

Is this departure reflecting a new found maturity and easing of insecurities? or just becuase I like some of the coloured Gel-pens that are around? It is probably a bit of both.

The great thing about having two hungry cats is that I have lots of cat food boxes on which I can paint and doodle. The downside is that, as a hoarder, I am fast running out of space to keep the material and then to keep my creations after I have finished. A lot has been dropped at various Birmingham City locations, and elsewhere, as Free Art but this still leaves a lot remaining. i will be distributing this little collection over the next few days and week, freeing up space for me to start on something else.

My Moleskines

I had always thought that Moleskine were too expensive for general jotting and doodling, an extravagance that could be left alone. After going through various sketchpads, notepads, jotters sometimes not even finishing a whole pad I now realise that I was wrong.

I have just finished my first Moleskine, a 9x14cm squared journal having filled almost every page with my doodles and jottings of ideas and have started on my second, of the same type. As stated in a previous post I have also completed a Japanese folding journal for Moleskine.

I am sure that there are other pads and journals which are equally as good, if not better, but at the moment thses journals are proving ideal to note and store ideas and doodles, they feel right in my hands and it is a pleasure to fill their blank pages.

At the moment I aim to fill two or three pages per day, somedays I wont touch it but on other days I can get a burst of creativity and fill up many, many pages. The act of putting pen to paper acts as a release and I can enjoy a few moments of really simple pleasure.

Reaching into my bag I pulled out this freshly prepared face and stuck it in one of the dryers. I think that it was taken, I would like to think so, but it probably ended up in the bin, being on a holiday park I think that whoever was going to dry their clothes wouldnt be the sort of person to appreciate Guerrilla art in their whites!

After a period of reflection, contemplation and doing nothing really exciting except for doodling I thought I would try and stencil again.

Taking one of my previously doodled characters, itself taken from some previous sketches and scraps, I set about making the stencil in thin card before trying it out on a piece of scrap card. I'm not too sure what I think at the moment, I have lost a lot around the mouth and the cloud edges could be thinner. I think I will try again and define the mouth some more with a thin strip cut out from the top of the teeth. If it turns out well I will see what I can do next.

LH: This guy is concerned at the amount of bugs crawling along the floor. Dunno what he is going to do about them though.

RH: A snakey character. He is going to bite his tail only because I couldn't think of anything else to draw at the top of the page.

I really like the snake but at the moment cannot think how to move this forwards. It is a good, simple idea and character, hopefully something will come to me.

On seeing my recent Moleskine scribblings on Flickr a lady called Marsida Shyti from Moleskine got in contact and asked if I would like to send my Moleskine to the company so they could display it at the London Bookfair. Being fairly cynical and unwilling to part with my Moleskine, mainly due to the fact that it wasnt complete I was reluctant to do anything more. After leaving a few mesages on various Flickr groups I found at that others had been asked the same question.

Could this be a hoax? I challenged Marsida and was rewarded with Japan notebook, with folding pages, FREE! And not only that, a return address to Moleskine in Italy with a DHL account number so I could send the completed notebook back FREE OF CHARGE!

I'm afraid that I cheated in the completion of the free notebook, copying pages from my current 'Skine and sticking them into the new one. I did add some other embellishments hoping that this will make the book unique.

I am hoping that my book will be displayed and that peropel will cast their eyes over it but maybe my cynicism and reluctance to part with my true Moleskine will cause me more harm than good.

The name says it all.

Artists create pieces of art which they then spread around their town, city or neighbourhood in the hope that someone will pick it up and offer it a home.

The main aim is to place soemthing unexpected which will surprice, delight and make the finder feel good and maybe just to challenge the publics perception a little bit. A lot of the artists recycle materials or use found opbjects with which to embelish.

I have left a few pieces lying around for people to stumble upon, I hope that these found good homes, if not I still think it is a valuable idea as otherwise my home would start to overflow with work

LH: A selection of characters past and present, dredged up from my imagination, the dark flying guy uis one of my favourites. He's kinda like a superhero, kinda.

RH: The dark hero, as I have named him, makes another appearance, saving the life of a raindrop. Its a pity he couldn't save them all, but its a big ask. Obviously, the other raindrops will be a bit miffed as will most of the clouds, even though their responsibility ended at the point of dropping the rain.

This is the first post in ages that I haven't 'blogged' from my Flickr account. Its simpler to blog from Flickr although you do loose control over the labeling and have to edit.

I have changed over from the Paperchase pad that I was using previously. Mainly because the Moleskine folds flat and the paper is heavier.

I have already filled 60 or so pages with doodles and ideas and will use Flickr as a repository for the pages.

For my birthday I was given another moleskine, the sketchpad one, with heavy paper so I can use that for colour trials and artworks.

Oh, my PC is having issue at the moment so I am unable to scan, hence the dodgy photo and photos in particular - Blame HP and Gimp !.

Using my previously made stencils I have made a fairly worrying start. This dismall effort is the result of not liningg up the different stencil forms. I think I will scrounge some more card and make sure that I leave a guide so that I can line the three different stages up. This way I can better assess if I can move forward with this technique.

Assuming that this work pays off I can also utilise screen printing techniques.

Something I just googled is this: www.art-e-zine.co.uk/stentut2.html advising how to make stencils, not too sure if this is the best way, but there is a fair bit of info and should prove fairly useful if I decide to continue down this route

Im going to have a bash at using stencils. Having cut these forms out of a cat food box I am now planning what other material that I need. Firstly Stencil brushes and good old acrylics will be fine to do a few trials then, if confident, I will be moving onto spray paints.

The second Mr Burning-Atomic Robot artwork, completed in record time as well.

I had to control some really strong impulses to splash the colour all over - I normally just have to get something like this done straight away - Its wasnt easy to thin the paints and layer the colour, especially for the sky/background. This has taken all afternoon and I am quiet pleased with the restraint that I have shown.

Like the original I have kept some yellow in the clouds, this is bringing them into the picture a bit more rather than keeping a sterile white, again, layers of colour were built up into the cloud shapes.

I will have to have a think over the atomic robot. Some colour pencil outlines are showing through and this is making me think I should build up layers of shade to pick out the edges.

Next, more 3D cutouts - they won't be on display so quickly this time though.

Slightly topsy turvey - These 2 Mr Burning Robots were cut out and painted before I started on the canvas, of course, they have more relevance now.

These were made by scavaging card from catfood and dishwasher tablet boxes. Sturdy and able to tale a lot of paint without warping too much, great for trials like these.

I am currently looking for card stock to make some 3D representations of the figure, hopefully when I find some I won't make too much of a mess of things.

I started with the intention of just sketching out ready for a session with acrylics sometime tomorrow but just carried on adding marks until I thought 'sod it' and carried on.
On the plus side this has made a dent in the Faber pencils that I have been 'saving' for 3 or so years.

I will try an acrylic variation and I am also eyeing up some stubby crayons that my two boys are using.

Basically this will be Febuarys project for me, taking my robotic space inavder character and trying to do different things with it. I have already started on some card cutouts which may be used for other projects and will put further work into the 3d/modelling aspect as well.

Almost there now.

I had a moment of madness and tried to show a gust of wind with black marker. The cold, hard, light of day shows that it looks a bit naff - I did the same on one of the follwing pages as well...too late to go back over now since I randomly mix paints.

Two more pages to go then I can start thinking about the cover - that will be a big test - and what I am thinking about for that may turn out better than the contents of thsi book!

The first four pages finished. Still very doodle like, which is what I wanted to achieve. The yellow creatures' journey is important and I wanted to try and translate that as quickly as possible.

There are many 'bare' spaces on these pages and on the pages that will follow. I think this is okay, I like the small creatures being almost lost in a large landscape.

The next two pages will be finished fairly quickly now.

These two pages should be completed very shortly so I can move onto the next two. In between paint drying I am defacing another board book ready for something slightly different.

Finally, some colour.
It's a bit rushed but as you will have seen before I am very impatient. The third page also has some colour brushed on so I am starting to get on quite nicely.

I would love to have the patience to mix paints and build up layers, especially when I am using block colours, a streak free finish is the dream but I cannot hold the impulsive compulsiosn in check. I am geting better but I really need to get this done.

Maybe, once I have finished I can start to go all out, plotting , planning and really taking my time on something.

Anyway - the blcok colouring is almost complete on these pages, just need to fill out the clouds. I will go through and block all the pages then add details at the end of this process.

Last 8 frames for my first new Gluebook project of 2008.

As i said before I can cut a couple of frames out since I will only be using sixteen pages so 5 and 6 look like they will be on their way out - I was struggling with these anyway.

It will all make sense when put together.

I am currently struggling with the book itself, the layers of paint I have added are too thin and opaque so I have had to go over with a thicker mixture, which I dont really like doing. I could continue with the thin layers - building up gradually - but I am geting impatient to get this book moving. I have other board books on their way and other ideas crying out to get done.

Roughed out story board for my new gluebook project. Showing the first 8 of 16 pages.

I actually have 14 pages to fill in the board book that I am using which means I can cut some of the 'filler' out.

The basic tale is of a group of flying 'creatures' taking a long journey. Don't know what I am saying with this tale hopefully I am not saying anything - Its just a story that I whizzed up for some little blank eyed yellow characters.

I have made a start on my new book.

Firstly I lightly sanded the cover and pages, to remove the gloss so any paint will adhere better.

I am now applying layers of thin undercoat to the pages and the covers. The pages will need to lightly sanded every few layers and though it takes an age to get everything covered I want to control the coverage making sure the undercoat isn't too thick.
At this point a few more coats should do it.

I have some story and character ideas ready and when the base is finished I can start transfering ideas to the book's pages and add some colour.

This unassuming book is the focus of my lastest project.

After experimenting with board/glue books last year I am resolved to taking things a step further and will be creating a complete book, the first of many.

I'm looking to expand the narrative of previous pieces and experiments that I have worked on, new characters and story elements are being worked on for the first book along with ideas and artwork for a few other books.

I will be upolading WIP details as I get further along with the project and will provide commentary as well.

I havent updated in a while but with a few quiet moments to spare I have added this creation.

Coming out of a Sharpie doodle and transfered onto some label sheets as stickers (what was I thinking?), this character is presented on a small artboard with the patented(!) red and gold base colour.

I am sending this away to silent2007 of Flickr who has taken an interest in doing a collaboration with me. I'm really excited about this collaborative effort and look forward to seeing the finished result.

I may be tempted to use another similar sounding name for the turtle soon.

This is my current effort at achieving a turtle shape, Its not coming along as well as I would have hoped for. I have in my mind the turtles and koopas from Mario Bros hazing up my thoughts a well as Ninja Turtles and their ilk.

Maybe I should just go and do some research on Turtle and Tortoise' just to try and get an acurate idea of shape and build before turning my pencils and pens loose.

I am just to impatient.

My boys have really gotten the arty bug, I cant really claim much credit since mum is a poet, Uncle is a poet and aspiring artist and grandad was an artisan engraver.

They both come up with weird and wonderful monsters and animals, sometimes after seeing what I am creating, sometimes I have a look at what they are doing and, truth be told, borrow some of their ideas!

John has written a very short three part tale about a lonely Turtle which I am hoping to illustrate in the coming weeks, Johns words and my illustration, it seems right to proceed but am anxious that it keep Johns unencumbered vision and wont be overly complicated or too simplistic.

Comic Hero?

Adapted from one of my previous comic doodles. This guy is a hero, of sorts, helping to save a lad caught in some mega trouble, he never speaks, eats or sleeps. I'm not even sure that he is truly a good guy- he isnt an anti hero by any means - but his thoughts are his own as is his agenda.

I'm having trouble with the marker bleeding through under the white acrylic smoke trail and I am having issues with the marker on the figure itslf. I will remedy this by going over in ink or black acrylic hopefully this will dull the lines down a little.

Not terribly happy with the first effort I went back and added some more 'detail' around the little critter.

Moderately more pleased with this attempt although It isnt as good as I would have hoped.
The idea is out there and the chances are that I may come back and do some more with this character. Maybe I will give the piece another name....

This is similar in technique to 'Amnio Bunny'.

The flipper like arms were a late addition to the overall design of this character. I not terribly sure that I like them. I'm none too sure about the character itself but had to give it its moment of glory.

Maybe I will go back to the drawing board with this, I want to change the head, make it smoother and the eyes. maybe the flipper/arms could go as well or be made a bit 'chubbier'? the marker outline is too shaky.

'Amnio Bunny'.

One of the new pieces that I did just last night, it possibly shows but I don't care. True to the original doodle of a 'slightly' malformed parody of a bunny which I scribbled into one of my cheap little black books (markers bleed through numerous pages) resized to fit the board size that I am using.

I primed the boards with Cadmium Yellow Hue for a nice bright finish, upon drying I then splodged some red and gold acrylics onto my mixing plate and using some scrunched up tinfoil dabbed over the surface. letting this dry I then drew the bunny outline with marker, filling in the eyes before applying masking fluid to the outlines. I then let this dry and then roughly daubed some of the Cadmium Yellow. when this dried I peeled back the masking fluid to reveal the intact thick black bunny outline.

I have started using the masking fluid technique quiote a lot in experiments and it is giving some good results especially to the way that I create my work. It isnt perfect, but nether am I, so it all works out quite well.

Bunnies, in numerous bizarre forms are taking up a lot of my time at the moment, I cannot pinpoint the exact time or the reason I started debasing them. Possibly, I distres and distort the childlike image of the rabbit, being cute and fluffy? Dunno, I'm sure that a psych evaluation will sort this fetish out!

This is something done in my A4 pad using a fineliner and a sharpie.

Cropped due to some light leakage showing on the scanned image. I think the genreal consensus is that I should perhaps pursue this style a bit more vigouriously than I have been doing and maybe create some final works. be they strips, single panels, or just larger montages. I have some ideas for panels either on board or canvas wether they will piece together I dont know. maybe I will take just a single motif or character, we shall see...

This is something else dredged up from the recent past, another strip without a spoken word featuring 3 or 4 recurring characters.

Probably difficult to see in this posted image. Each frame is drawn separately in an A4 sketchbook inked using Indian ink and was then scanned. Its a WIP so is rough and ready, scratchy and the lack of contrast means that you cannot pick out much detail. I plan to retell the story of one boys adventures with superheroes and the mystical, using new layouts. It will still be black and white and may end up as a series of canvas'.

Freebie Mousemat, Acrylic and Marker.

Not a new piece, (I had displayed this elsewhere before). The inspiration is taken from a conversation I had reagrding apossibel commision. To be honest I havent done much for this commision as of yet, I am too tied up and the crux of the piece needed is still eluding me.

This piece is a an offshoot of that conversation and the ideas that stemmed from it. Death in a Crowd in its most basic form. I rather like how this has come out, small scale, quick, haphazard. There is potential to develop this much further, into a larger canvas, with more going on in the background, maybe making death himself a little less obvious but still 'there'. maybe to add more characters would help loose Death a little bit, maybe single one out for special attention?

For my first post this month I think I will add something that I have rediscovered.

'Animal Fighting Carnival'-Title Page.

A short lived strip about bizzare animals...fighting.

Why I thought I could pen and illustrate a strip about fighting animals is now lost on me although it does rear its ugly head very often. particularly when new age types reference animal groups, pods and families when trying to make us all live in harmony, hey, I've seen what Chimps, and Meerkats get up to, vicious little swine that they all are.

Anyway, no text or speaking in this strip since no animals I have seen, speak. The action is fairly self explanitory. maybe I will get round to doing some more, more refined or rough round the edges? Im no primadonna, I cant draw, so it will be rough!

A lot of things have been in development since I last posted here, some things have arisen and died, soem things were stillborn, some things are still going round in my head. Basically I have been trying a lot of things since my last post in '06.

My website was started but is now back in development, or on hiatus if you prefer. A new direction to my creativity was needed as was a dirction for publicising any of my creative endeavours. thee avenues are still being sought and thought about and alongside my other blog I will be posting ideas comments and other thoughts and junk here.

of course I wont just be writing about my tortued route to illustrative recognition, maybe I might ramble on to myself about stuff and happenings within my world.

Comic Strip

Phoenixwriters.co.uk is now the home of Animal Fighting Carnival. My new comic strip.

Its good to see it on the site, good for me, since I know that people can actually see it. Does anyone realise how difficult it is to do something the let it go into the public domain? Its very scary and that is one hurdle over with.

The fear of work being seen is that it may not be good enough I think that I can accept criticism of the strip. I know some of it isnt so good but with some work Im going to get something that I really like and hopefully everyone else will like too. At the moment the strip is quite basic but as my artwork develops I will be making something a bit more edgy and 'funkier' looking.

Well first time Ive been on in ages and I am pissed off!!

I am pissed off with work, not an unusual occurance for a lot of people out there but rare for someone normally stoic and placid like myself. I must work for the most inept company on teh facew of the planet, not in the large schemes but in teh stupid miserable details.

Some bright spark has decied to do away with our seperate printers and fax machines and lease one that does both jobs....poorly!!! Now my company has a history of having faxes that dont work and printers that do not work, put them together and you have shit pie. For instance today, when a large report was printing we were unable to send faxes or receive them to our emails (another great idea whacking great PDFs of mostly blank white paper). This lasted most of the afternoon. and was still somehat hampering our work in the evening. When I finaly got to print my data had been lost. Work I needed to send to customers was lost, gone, into the ether.

But this is just the starter, the main course is that, being a salesperson I spend bugger all time actually on teh phone to customers, in fact I have made about 2 hours outbound call time in the last 2 weeks. My boss has asked what is taking up my time and i have told him, but I dont get the feeling that he understands me, perhaps I am speaking a different language to everyone else. I spend by time doing admin on his accounts and dealing with problems like when my customer notified me of a failed delivery, in fact the delivery hadnt failed if you were someone else in completely the wrong part of the country!!! I tell my boss that I need to be doing more outbound calls and that the admin should be passed on which he has agreeed to, the thing is though, that he hasnt actually let anyone else know and when I try to pass teh admin i just get blank looks and understandable shock!!! When I try to chase up stock orders for customers such as printed product it takes nearly a day of constant nagging to get answers off people. In one instance aprint job that should have taken 8 weeks has now taken 3 months!!! and is looking like being an extra 4 weeks wait because noone bothered to order the stock!!! So as well as doing admin I have to make sure that the purcashing team get the stock in on time so i can release it to the customer (I'll be the purchasing director then!!).

BTW work in teh packaging industry so get this we supply paper but teh stuff we use JAMS our printers!!!! we have to send sample to customers in old printer paper boxes cause we have none of our own!!!!!

God I hate my job...time to move on

Great!

I can still get into blogger.
Not much to report since I last posted.

Doodles are becoming finished pieces (with the help of photoshop and illustrator) (hopefully), some bits and pieces of sculpture are taking shape quite nicely.

And my mind has been free of filth for a little while......

I find this worrying, Not that filth forms the basis for my life, but its something to grab hold of when bored, down, or even in the mood. I think that the lack of creative thought comes from the fact that there are no decent scenarios to put characters into, all of the deeds have been done (the leagal ones and the ones I am interested in). maybe I am looking at things over critically, I tend to do this when I write rather than plodding through and thenm taking a look over to see if everything fits, I get to a point where i rewrite a paragraph, over, and over, and over, and over, until i get bored and do something else.

Still normal work gives me time to think about artistic dilemas so we shall see what I come up with once I start back on Tuesday.

Rhythm

I am a rhythm artist,

If I do not do any for a long time I get rusty and find it very difficult to sketch draw or do anything. If I persist I get better and better, leafing through my sketchpads I have noticed these phases cropping up with alarming regularity, my cure will be to persist and at least sketch something or just rough out some ideas everyday, just to get the rhythm back again.

I havent really sketched regularly since college so desperately need to continue. maybe through my doodles my mind can wonder and get some new ideas for my writing.

Have had a fairly good (i.e normal and non stressful weekend).

This has ended after a shopping trip for one of the boys football kits and having a kick around in the park then finally to the Wacky Warehouse to tire the boys out. Both of them have been really good today, especially John, who was really patient during Williams shopping trip and didnt moan once, I was very proud of him!!

Hopefully Im getting better at this 'fathering' mularky.

I havent thought of any decent ideas for erotica in a few days. Sometimes, I cant help thinking that I am just retreading the letters pages of Knave or Escort or other quality publications. I suppose its just a case of coming up with a new angle (slight snigger) hey perhaps the women/woman involved will actually get a say in what happens to her rather than the usual 'Girl is hot, goes with bloke, he tries to shove it up her arse, she doesnt know, he reassures her, she turns in to an anal whore, he strokes one off into her mouth, mucky cow but loved it, turns out to be mother, aunty, next door neighbour, girl off bus, from work...'. Now I dont have a problem with this and dont want to be pretentious but there must be some other way to write these sort of things, I shall ponder this.

Whilst I get over this problem I am doing sopme more sculpting and have come up with some odd loking animals, Like I have blogged previously, they are based on Syro-Hittite and ancient mid eastern votive offerings and are coming along quite nicely, I also have some ideas for dogs and cats which I got when travelling to the shops today. I shall have to get a small sketch pad and keep it with me for when I get these ideas, the same goes for a notepad for the smut

Now if you thought the Jim'll fix it post was funny you'll love this, Sarah (my other half) didnt notice but when she was reading a book about hedgehogs with one of teh kids they got to a page which had a picture of a hedgehog and its feet. Sarah said 'Look at its foot it looks almost like a hand' Sarah holds hand out, looking at it. Kid says 'yeah' looking at mothers hand, then pointing at picture 'and that is a foot'.

If you are from the uk and are around my age many of you will remember Jim'll fix it.

Well I had a dream last night about the programme which I have thought about all day.

Jimmy Saville comes on sitting in his big assed chair and reads a letter 'Please fix it for me blah blah blah', Jimmy finishes the letter, looks at the camera and says bollocks. Roll credits, fade to black.

Now the more I have thought about it the more amusing this scenario has become to the point where I now laugh out loud. Please someone tell me this is quite amusing

Thats it juts glance at it, you will notice 4 links 3 to other blogs and one too a rather nice forum.

Fight For My Sanity is by someone whom I know and quite admire (he wont know this until he reads this). he got me and my better half together mainly by badgering her and pimping her out!!! but by being quite a friendly big scary looking chap. he has the same idea about OU funded canteen facilities, a good taste in music and films, has a good brain and a sharp line in humour.

As you will see he has some challenges at the moment but I feel, as do others, that he will pull himself through. Not unchanged, but Dave shouldnt take that as a negative rather this experience should strengthen him and I hope he can see that he has many friends wishing him the best.

Kids have got a Chinese Dragon kite, so me and the better half take a ride up to the park. theres a bit of wind blowing so I setthe kite up and away we go, or I should say I go.

You see, after a while it became apparent that teh wind probably wasnt strong enough to sustain flight so the kids, naturally, had their attention drawn off by other things. leaving me to act as competitive 'dad' and run around like the proverbial blue arsed fly trying to get the damn thing to fly.

In short It didnt and now I am tired and the kids are still awake.
